(KSL News) Eight people were taken to the hospital early this morning after a fire tore through their mobile home.
The fire started just after 2:00 this morning in Clearfield. When fire crews arrived the double wide trailer was fully engulfed. Three nearby cars were also destroyed.
Officials are struggling to find a cause, but expect to get some answers later today.
Roger Bodily, Fire Chief, North Davis Fire District: "We have no idea at this point. Our fire marshal is here on scene and he's starting to begin the investigation. We're probably going to have to do a lot of interviewing to find out some of the events that occurred before we arrived."
Seven people, including some children, were treated for smoke inhalation. The grandfather suffered second and third degree burns to 60 percent of his body. He was transported to the U of U burn center.
Crews also treated a neighbor who suffered a panic attack while witnessing the fire.
