(KSL News) A new medical report reveals how a four-week-old baby died, back in January. Turns out the death is NOT suspicious.
The report says the baby died from compressional asphyxiation, meaning something pressed against the baby's face preventing the child from breathing.
The baby's mother had been sleeping next to the baby in a twin bed. Investigators say it's possible the mother rolled over on top of the infant. She says when she woke up the infant was purple and had stopped breathing.
Police caution parents-- it's a bad idea to sleep with a newborn baby.
