PROVO -- Fans commuting to the BYU football game Friday can expect major delays on I-15, according to UDOT.

Officials are urging fans, Utah county residents and businesses to plan ahead for commute times that may double on southbound I-15 between 4 and 6 p.m.

To avoid congesting on University Parkway in Orem, UDOT is encouraging drivers traveling to the game to use the exits at Orem 800 North, Orem Center Street or University Avenue in Provo.

In addition, travelers should carpool if able and leave early to dine in Provo or tailgate before the game.

Drivers not attending the game should alter their work schedules, if possible, and avoid using the freeway and major roads.

Drivers traveling via I-215 should plan for lane restrictions beginning at 10 p.m. in both directions between 300 E. and Redwood Rd.

Travelers can dial '511' for automated traffic updates or tune in to KSL Newsradio 102.7 FM and 1160 AM.
