TOOELE -- What do you give some of our state's most prolific readers? More books, of course!

Students at Settlement Canyon Elementary School in Tooele rate near the top of our Read Today program. So Big O Tires purchased and Chopper 5 delivered hundreds of the novels to keep students reading.

Principal Gailynn Warr said, "They're expensive. So as a new school, as we are collecting books, this is what we want."

Reading scores at Settlement Canyon have increased school-wide, and teachers have helped individual readers who no longer struggle.

One student's mother, Marci Fuwell, said, "It makes my heart soar. It makes me think -- for any kid who can't read -- I thought we were doomed forever. It means that lots of hard work and diligence always pays off in the end."
