Tonya Papanikolas ReportingTwo boys were stunned to see their dad in their classroom this morning. That's because he'd been stationed overseas for a year serving in the military.

Spencer and Gabe Day's dad, Nicholas Day, has been stationed in Kuwait for a year. But now he's on leave for two weeks and returned home. He and his wife, Cynthia, decided to surprise their two boys at school with some help from the teachers.

Second grade teacher Mrs. Bell says Spencer was very surprised when he looked up and saw his dad. After that, the family set off down the hallway to find Spencer's 5-year-old brother, Gabe.

A surprise this big isn't easy to keep secret.

Cynthia said, "They're pretty smart. They knew what I was talking about, so it made it difficult to contain the excitement."

The family is happy that they are together and that dad is home again. They're looking forward to spending quality time together.

The Day family plans on making the most of their time together by taking a family vacation to Disneyland.
