Tom Callan, KSL Newsradio According to a West Bountiful resolution, residents shouldn't have to divert their eyes from suggestive magazines when they are out in public.
The West Bountiful resolution is not sanctioned by law. It is merely a request proposed by councilwoman Debbie McKeen. It states that businesses should cover those curving contours of some magazines; pictures McKeen said are not fit for young wandering eyes.
"Barnes and Noble were the one that I approached. They were the ones that said that they didn't need to cover, and they would only cover if they got so many complaints," she said.
She added if she had her way, all people would be protected out in public from those Sports Illustrated bathing suit covers.
