SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A Salt Lake City store clerk put a stop to a robbery earlier this week after attacking the bandit with a golf club.
It happened Monday afternoon at the Merit Market, located at 1035 East 200 South.
Authorities say a man armed with a brick entered the store and demanded money from the clerk, who put some money in a paper bag.
But the clerk then grabbed a golf club from the counter and hit the man in the back. Police say the robber dropped the money and took a fighting stance, but then decided to run away.
