Mary Richards, KSL NewsradioWith Utah's largest school districts starting school next week, the whole traffic pattern along the Wasatch Front will change.

Teens driving to school, kids crossing the street, kids running to catch the bus: It could get unsafe quickly.

AAA's Rolayne Fairclough says drivers need to pay extra attention, "because children, especially for the first few days of school, they are very excited to see their friends they haven't seen all year long, and they'll dart across the street."

Fairclough says parents should take this weekend to go over the route to school and talk safety with your kids. She recommends you can give the kids the safety tips and have them repeat them afterward.

Fairclough also reminds parents that teen drivers cannot take teen passengers in their car for the first six months they have their license.
