Samantha Hayes ReportingHosting the Olympic Games takes years of preparation, and when the world finally tunes in to watch, everyone has an opinion. We wanted to know what Italians think; it's their games, in their country.

Before the Games started, the usual pre-Olympic questions were being asked. Will the city be ready? Is there enough security? Will the Italians be able to pull it off? That's all behind us now, and with the games winding down, locals in this town feel is has been a great success.

Maybe it was meant to be that the last word sung by Luciano Pavorotti in the Opening Ceremony in Italian means, I will win. And that's exactly what the Italians have done.

Anna Maria Borla, Torino Resident: "We won a gold medal with Fabris and they are really proud of what the Italian athletes are doing."

Even though it's in their city, many locals have not attended an Olympic event.

Paolo Lucchesi, Torino Resident: "Unfortunately not because they are working, and every event has run out and no chance to get tickets."

But they know the Olympics is more than the event itself, it can make or break the host city.

Marco Neirotti, Torino Resident: "He says it's perfect for Turin because it's not as well known as Milano or Rome or the other cities of Italy. They are jealous because we have the Olympic Games."

Paolo Lucchesi: "He is saying everyone in the world will know that Torino is not just known for Fiat, but also discos and pubs."

And the international party that comes along with the games is ticket free.

Marta Ruffino: "She appreciates, especially, the life downtown at night."

We know that Italians are passionate about their food, their wine, their sports cars, but some question as to whether they are passionate about the games. Italians say they are just as excited as Americans, they just express their passion differently.
