Keith McCord ReportingLooking back to the Salt Lake games four years ago, there were a lot of familiar faces in town, and it wasn't just the athletes and entertainers. During the Olympic TV coverage, it was fun to see all those NBC faces-- normally in a New York studio-- actually here.
Even Tom Brokaw dressed down a bit to fit the mood of the games. Nightly News set up a studio in a tent on a mountaintop for the broadcast.
Tom Brokaw: "We're out here with a great backdrop. There's skiing to work every day. This day job is tough duty!"
The Today Show set up shop in the lobby of The Canyons resort for its daily morning show.
Katie Couric: "Could it be any more beautiful or perfect? I mean, first of all, the landscape and the vistas are so breathtaking that I never get sick of that mountain shot that we show every day about four times because it is so spectacular."
Everyone certainly enjoyed the change of scenery and the hospitality.
Al Roker: "I've been all over the country and the world, and I have not seen more friendly people and outgoing. But I gotta tell ya', for anybody watching, you don't have to bring the Jell-o!"
Al says he doesn't like Jello, but Katie does.
Yep, they all agreed Utah was a Pretty, Great State!
