(KSL News) -- Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson has rejected the City Council's proposal for health care coverage.

Council members want to extend benefits to unmarried partners, housemates, and adult siblings of city employees.

Anderson says the coverage would cost the city too much money. He wants to extend benefits only to same- sex and unmarried couples.

The City Council is expected to override the veto tomorrow night.
