(KSL News) The Utah County attorney will face an election day challenge from an attorney in his own office.
Jeff Buhman, a prosecutor in the county attorney's office, announced today he is running for his boss's job.
Buhman says he wants to make changes and improve the relationship between police and prosecutors. He also wants to prevent child abuse and crack down on drug offenses.
Jeff Buhman, Candidate For Utah County Attorney: "One of my primary goals if elected is to allocate more resources and to limit plea bargaining in those type of drugs. We need to get those type of people out of our community."
Buhman will likely face Kay Bryson, who has been the Utah County attorney for the last 16 years. Bryson is expected soon to announce he is running for re-election.
