SALT LAKE CITY -- A rapper's plea to "raise the debt ceiling" is picking up millions of hits on YouTube.
"We may not be able to address our current debt ceiling woes, but we can at least put them to a good beat," is written on the YouTube page that features the video by D.C.-based Comedian Remy Munasifi.
His video called "Raise the Debt Ceiling," was posted by Reason.TV, an offshoot of public policy think tank the Reason Foundation.
In the video, he makes clear, "Our debt is more unsustainable than my rap career."
House Republicans are expected to vote Thursday on a bill that could stave off an unprecedented government default next week. Republicans are seeking deep spending cuts in exchange for raising the nation's $14.3 trillion debt limit.
The White House has threatened to veto the House GOP bill even if it makes it through the Senate.
