SUNSET — A FrontRunner train struck and killed a Clinton woman late Saturday afternoon.
Sunset Police Chief Ken Eborn said the woman either stepped or ran in front of the train. "It appears that she did intentionally run in front of the train," he said.
The incident occured at 1600 North and 475 West about 4:40 p.m. Police believe they know the identity of the woman and were contacting her family, he said.
UTA spokesman Gerry Carpenter said the northbound train was between the Clearfield and Roy stations and approaching top speed at the time. The conductor was placed on routine administrative leave. Passengers were bused to other stations.
