(KSL News) -- Police caught a pair of burglars in the act, thanks to some observant neighbors.
Apparently the thieves went door- to door last night, with a scheme to see if anyone was home.
Lt. Dave Askerlund Salt Lake City Police Dept.: "They'd actually gone to a couple of houses and had a line or a story they were asking people just as a means to check to see if people were home. When they didn't get an answer on this house they kicked the back door in, which was when the neighbor called us."
Police arrived quickly and arrest one man coming out of the house.
The other refused to come out so a police dog went in to get him.
Police recovered several stolen items.
