This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

You may know Ogden best as the center for business and government in Weber County. This city of almost 83,000 people is on a roll with a rising employment base and was recently ranked No. 10 in the nation for new jobs created which is critical for Utah's economy. It also has a strong transportation infrastructure with both I-15 and I-84 passing through the city and easy access to commuter rail. But local families and visitors may have their own reasons for enjoying the city . . . including destination dining like the Prairie Schooner.

It's a local favorite and a classic in Ogden. The Prairie Schooner has been a part of the Ogden area for decades. This eatery just recently changed hands to the new owner Christian George.

The restaurant business is Christian's blood. His dad was in the business for years, so he grew up working in the kitchen, and he loves it. He talked his new wife, Lisa, into buying the Prairie Schooner because he understood the potential of this one-of-a-kind operation.

You really have to see it to understand. It takes you back to the West in the late 1800s. You sit in one of 37 covered wagons, or prairie schooners, surrounded by wildlife and tumbleweeds and open prairie. It has a dark, cool atmosphere with stars overhead and any number of wildlife you might encounter in the Wild West. As you take it all in, it's time to enjoy what they're known for, and that's steaks.

How about the 24 ounce porterhouse called the Wagonmaster, or the ribeye Trail Blazer? You get all the fixings to go with your dinner, but if you want to start out right, be sure to get the deep-fried mushrooms. They're to die for!

Prairie Schooner is so much fun they're already booking up for holiday parties. It's so charming inside it's not uncommon to have young men in love ask their significant other to get hitched in one of the prairie schooners. How romantic!

For Zions Bank, I'm Chris Redgrave, speaking on business.
