Troy Hinds is just like any other high school senior. He is a humble, soft-spoken kid who just likes to have fun.

What separates him from others his age is his incredible athletic ability. The 6' 4" 230 Davis high senior runs a 4.6 40-yard dash and can bench-press 300 pounds. His athleticism and pass rushing skills have made him the most sought after college recruit in the state of Utah.

"It's been pretty crazy," Troy says about all the attention he is receiving from college coaches. "I never expected it to get big but not complaining at all. It's a good problem to have and it's been really fun."

Troy currently holds 15 offers from some of the top football programs in the country.

"It's kind of overwhelming but I've kind of narrowed it down to Utah, BYU, Stanford, Nebraska and Notre Dame."

While he has picked a top five Troy is in no rush to make one of the biggest decisions of his life.

"I know I'm going to be the one playing there and no one else will be," he says about making his decision. " So I have to make myself happy and not really worry about what anyone thinks."

Troy is focused on his senior season and helping the Davis Darts contend for a 5A title. Last year Davis was eliminated in the first round of the playoffs in a humbling 52-7 loss to Jordan. He is determined to make sure his team doesn't end this season in similar fashion.

"If we really push ourselves and work hard we control our own destiny."

Troy is proud to be a part of the football tradition at Davis. The program has won seven state titles and recently produced players like Bryan Kariya of BYU and Chaz Walker of Utah. Troy's older brother Tanner, currently at Weber State, rushed for 1,939 yards and 24 touchdowns in 2009 when the Darts reached the State title game. Troy played with his brother on that team and he's determined to do whatever it takes to get back there.

"The tradition is the best in the state," he says. "It's pretty cool to know that it's my time now to represent those before us."
