(KSL News) An overnight high speed chase ended with two suspects going to jail. Police say the whole thing was strange.
Police tried to pull over the car around 3500 South and Redwood Road. The car took off but then ran into a fence in a West Valley neighborhood.
Sgt. Michael Buchanan/West Valley Police: "It was a weird pursuit because the driver slowed down and made sure intersections were clear before he ran red lights. The only time he did anything foolish was when he punched the car to try to get through this fence and across the canal."
The suspects tried to run away, but they were caught by officers and K-9 units from nearby agencies. It turns out the car was stolen.
The passenger was arrested on parole violations and possession of a controlled substance.
The driver already had three warrants for his arrest. He will also face charges of theft, speeding, and criminal mischief.
