Keith McCord ReportingDay 3 of the Salt Lake games four years ago was a day that brought complaints from viewers who thought NBC's Bob Costas was being rude.

It was the first night that medals ceremonies were going to take place at the medals plaza. And each night before those awards, there was entertainment. Well, on this first night, Bob Costas was caught off-guard at first!

"I'll take your complaint. What is it that you'd like to know?"

The calls and emails were flooding in to KSL criticizing Bob Costas's remarks the previous night. At the medals plaza, an aerial dance company was performing. Costas thought a medals presentation was about to begin. When it didn't:

"I'm guessing that they're not going to do this every night before every medals presentation, because if they do, we'll have to go from here straight to Athens."

Costas said later he was just trying to have some fun while killing time. The performers, though, were disappointed.

"I'd like to see Bob Costas try to slide down a silk slide, upside down, 40 feet up in the cold."

Medals were ultimately awarded, and speed skater Derek Parra received applause as he proudly displayed his silver to his co-workers at Home Depot.

Nobel Prize winner Bishop Desmond Tutu participated in church services at the Cathedral Church of St. Mark. Kids and adults alike thrilled that he was here.

A downtown apartment building got into the Olympic Spirit by displaying a variety of foreign flags to welcome the various countries here.

And of course, Rod Zundel figured out a way to play golf. Actually, southern Utah was sunny and warm, and St. George wanted to remind folks that if they wanted to get away from the cold, and the crowds, to come on down. And that was Olympics Day 3 in Salt Lake.
