(KSL News) -- Utah will soon receive money for helping victims of Hurricane Katrina.

The federal government will award more than a half-billion dollars in grants to states which aided hurricane victims. Utah's share is 92-thousand dollars, a small sum compared to the Gulf Coast states.

The money was doled out based on the number of hurricane victims living in each state. In Utah, there are about three-hundred.

The money will provide health care and mental health counseling to hurricane victims.
