Sam Penrod ReportingWest Jordan Police are still looking for two suspects who broke into a home last night and shot the homeowner. The victim isn't doing much to help in the investigation.
The victim is in the hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg, but he is not cooperating in the investigation, so police do not believe it was a random attack.
Officers responded to the home just before 10:00 last night, after a man in his thirties was shot once in the upper thigh. According to the victim, two men wearing ball caps and hoodies entered the home and demanded money. There was some kind of a struggle and the man was shot. The suspects fled the home without taking anything.
Police say the victim, who is now in stable condition, is saying very little more about what happened. Investigators say they have been to the home several times on drug situations and have dealt with the victim as well on drug offenses.
Two other people were also in the home at the time of the home invasion, but also aren't being very cooperative.
Capt. Gary Cox, West Jordan Police Dept: "There were two other people in another room that saw the other suspect, but again they are not helping us out much. They've given us a description of two white males in their early 20's, one about 5'6" the other 5'11" with a thin build."
Police are asking that neighbors or anyone else who was in the neighborhood around 10:00 last night, who may have noticed anything suspicious, to give them a call. Again police are following some leads in this home invasion, but so far no arrests.
