WILLIAMSBURG, Va. — The Mormon Tabernacle Choir took a break from their East Coast tour Tuesday to participate in a musical flash mob, much to the surprise of 4,000 visitors to Colonial Williamsburg, Va.

At the end of the park's daily re-enactment about the American Revolution, a few members of the choir and the Orchestra at Temple Square began singing the final verse of "God Save the King." By the end of the song, the entire choir had joined in.

The choir and crowd then joined together and sang "Yankee Doodle Dandy."

"You have just participated in a live performance with the world-renowned Tabernacle Choir," John Bacon, senior vice president of the Colonial Williamsburg foundation, told the crowd.

Park officials had tried to keep the choir's performance a secret, but word leaked out and several people showed up just to hear the famous singers.
