Gene Kennedy ReportingTwo semi trucks are sprawled across the offramp leading from I-80 west to Bangerter Highway. The two vehicles collided this morning.
The Utah Highway Patrol says the semis were in the right hand lane on I-80 when one of them rear-ended the other. The force of that crash took both semis off the side of the road and they ended up on middle of the offramp to Bangerter Highway. One semi rolled over, it appears the other jacknifed.
It is described as a grizzly scene. Amazingly the drivers had only minor injuries.
Hazmat teams are on the scene because fuel spilled as a result of the crash. Officials estimate that it will take two to four hours to clear the scene.
