ASTORIA, Ore. — Dell "Superdell" Schanze is facing a five-day jail sentence after his jump from the Astoria Column earlier this week.
Schanze reportedly requested to speak with the district attorney and was told that five days was the minimum he could expect. At that point, Schanze stated he would appoint legal counsel.
The city is out of control and these people need to be fired immediately.

A calm Schanze exited municipal court with his family after the hearing Wednesday afternoon. Schanze said the hearing went as he expected but the seriousness of his possible sentence is extreme.
"There's no victim here," he said. "Nothing was harmed, nobody was injured and they're going to ask for jail time."
Schanze described the situation as ridiculous, and expressed frustration at city personnel.
"The city is out of control and these people need to be fired immediately," Schanze said.
When asked how his family was holding up, Schanze replied that they were "totally awesome."
Schanze was arrested Monday and charged with an unclassified misdemeanor after jumping from the historic landmark while wearing a gliding device. He is scheduled to appear in court August 8.
