SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Utah high school students who take college classes may soon have to pay 30 dollars per credit. That's if a bill passes.
A House committee has already given its support to the bill and has sent it to the full House for consideration.
Lawmakers say higher education can NOT continue to absorb the number of students taking college classes.
While, opponents of the bill says the 30 dollar fine would significantly limit the number of students taking college courses, especially in lower-income families. They say "keep public education public."
However, lawmakers say students only pay when they want college credits.
