Shelley Osterloh ReportingA 23-year old Utah County Man has earned a spot on the US Olympic team. Steven Nyman is one of the rising stars of the US Ski team.
Steven Nyman: "My passion for skiing really comes from speed. It sounds like a simple answer, but it truly is. I love going fast."
Steven Nyman was born to ski. He grew up in Sundance, Utah where his dad used to run the ski school, so Nyman spent most of his childhood on the slopes. He says skiing has always come easy to him.
Steve Nyman: "It's natural, and my coaches have always told me I just have a sense for it, putting in the fall line and feeling that speed. And I think I have a great feel for the snow."
Nyman's natural ability and hard work have paid off.
Steve Nyman: "To be able to go to the Olympics, it's always been a dream of mine. And things seem like they've just fallen into place."
He is currently the US Downhill Champion and a medal contender in Torino.
Nyman will celebrate his 24th birthday on the day of the men's downhill in Torino.
