TUSCON, Ariz. - Utah baseball player C.J. Cron has been selected to the Louisville Slugger All-America baseball team, announced today by Collegiate Baseball newspaper. Cron was picked as the first-team first baseman.

It is the second-straight year he has been picked as a Louisville Slugger All-American after earning first-team designated hitter honors last year as a sophomore.

Cron, who is a semifinalist for both the Golden Spikes Award and Dick Howser Trophy, ranks in the top 10 nationally in several offensive categories, including leading the nation in slugging percentage (.803) while ranking third in batting average (.434). He is a two-time Mountain West Conference Player of the Year.

Cron set school records with a .396 career batting average and 198 career RBI. He is projected to be a high selection in the upcoming Major League Baseball draft.
