With just seven days until June, the iPhone 5 rumor mill is grinding at full power. It's a relatively simple and familiar process now that Apple has released a new iPhone every June since the device's debut in 2007. Tech tipsters--sometimes AT&T employees, sometimes insiders with ties to Chinese factories, sometimes drunk Apple employees--send privileged info (read: rumors) to bloggers. Bloggers create slideshows that round up those rumors. Apple watches its stock price rise and waits for the ideal time to announce the new device. According to one rumor, Apple has finished developing the iPhone 5, but because they want to allow as much time as possible for the late-to-the-party white iPhone 4 to sell, the company will hold the announcement until October. It's not all fun and games for the users, though.According to a column in AdAge today, the proliferation of smartphones, e-readers and tablets is making life more difficult for the affluent people who own them. In aJanuary survey of households with incomes greater than $100,000, over half of those questioned said they own a smartphone and nearly a third either own or plan to own a tablet by the end of the year. How's that working out for them? When we asked how their lives had changed over the past decade, "infused with technology" was the most widely cited answer. But equally telling are the phrases coming next on the list -- "more complicated," "more stressful" and "focused on finding ways to do more with less." In contrast, fewer than half said their lives had become "more fun" or "easier." So much for Angry Birds saving the world! The report goes on to point out how, as technology proliferates and new types of devices are introduced, rich people just keep buying them for specific needs they never knew they had.Still wondering whether or not the new iPhone will feature a curved screen or 4G capabilities? Here's the best round up we've seen so far. No slideshow needed. Want to add to this story?Commentbelow or send the author of this post, Adam Clark Estes,an email. Have a hot tip or story idea?
