DRAPER — The Utah National Guard’s 1-145th (First of the 145th) Field Artillery will conduct a change-of-command ceremony Saturday at 3 p.m. at Bullene Barracks at Dugway Proving Ground.

At the ceremony, Lt. Col. Brent E. Stark will officially relinquish command to Lt. Col. Adam L. Robinson.

Stark, an Orem resident, has commanded the 1-145th since 2009. He is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom, serving with I Corps Artillery (Forward) in Afghanistan in 2006-07. During his 26-year military career, Stark has served as a commander, executive officer, operations officer, intelligence officer, fire-support officer and platoon leader.

A Heber City resident and native of Sevier County, Robinson’s most recent assignment was as commander of the Utah National Guard’s Recruiting and Retention Battalion. He began his military career in 1985 and has served as a battery commander, executive officer, training officer, operations officer and administrative officer. He deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2006-07 to provide mentoring and training for members of the Afghan National Army.

Robinson will assume command of approximately 450 soldiers assigned to units at Camp Williams, Brigham City, Manti, Logan and Spanish Fork.
