Shelley Osterloh reporting A former soccer and track star from BYU is now moving up the women's bobsled ranks, as she competes in her first ever Olympic games.
Shauna Rohbock began bobsledding after graduating from BYU, where she was a two-time All-American in track and soccer. She says she has loved it ever since her first run.
Shauna Rohbock/ U.S. Bobsled Team: "It's such a rush to be up there and see how many times you almost die!"
After just missing out to be a brakeman for the 2002 Olympics, coaches targeted Rohbock to be a driver. And in just three years, she has become one of the toughest drivers in the sport.
Bill Tavares, Coach: "There's a lot of promise and I think there is a lot more to go. After these games, if she's able to medal, this is only going to be the tip of the iceberg for her."
She's earned a spot on the U.S. women's Olympic team, something she's dreamed of.
Rohbock: "One time I was watching the Olympics and I turned around and I said, 'Some day I'm going to do that.'"
And now she is.
She says she has loved trying new things and taking risks ever since she was a kid.
Rohbock "My parents were very supportive. Everything I wanted to do, my parents made me do."
Rohbock is also a member of the Utah National Guard, and a former professional soccer player for the San Diego Spirit.
