SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Utah men's basketball forward Bryant Markson is being charged with theft of services for using a stolen parking permit.

The class B misdemeanor charge was filed by the office of Salt Lake City prosecutor Sim Gill.

According to a police report by the University of Utah Police Department, Markson admitted he bought the permit from a man in a school parking lot.

The permit had been reported stolen and Markson's car was impounded when the permit was found in his car.

Markson served a one-game suspension January 21st. He will not start in Utah's game against Texas Christian tomorrow, but is expected to play in the game.

Utah associate sports information director Mike Lageschulte (Laga-shult) says Markson would not serve anymore suspension time. He says the case is in the hands of the courts now.

Markson leads the Utes in scoring with an average of just over 14 points per game.

The charge is punishable by up to six months in jail and a one-thousand dollar fine.
