(KSL News) -- An Orem woman says she was assaulted early this morning by a man she barely knew. Police say the man pounded on her door around 1:00 this morning, demanding she let him stay the night. When she told him no, she says the man strangled her.
Assault Victim: "That's the first thing that popped into my head, I'm going to die. That was the first thing. I didn't know what his intentions were, but that was the first thing was I'm going to die, and my kids."
Her 11- year- old daughter woke up and saw the struggle. She ran to a neighbor's house for help.
Officers found Billie Teideman nearby, hiding underneath a car. He was booked in jail on burglary and assault charges, with outstanding warrants for his arrest.
