KEARNS — Police are looking for five men in connection with a Friday night stabbing in Kearns.

A man in his 20s was stabbed around 7:20 p.m. near Big Lots at 4071 West 5400 South, said Lt. Justin Hoyal, Salt Lake police.

The victim and his brother were driving to a nearby market when three men walked toward them, who police said the victim recognized from previous altercations.

A white Toyota Tercell then approached the victim's vehicle. Two men got out of the Toyota and one of them began hitting the victim's vehicle with a baseball bat.

The victim and his brother got out of their vehicle and three of the men attacked the victim while the other two attacked his brother. The victim's brother eventually escaped and helped the victim get back into their vehicle and flee.

When the victim realized he had been stabbed, his brother drove him to get help at a nearby Circle K, located at 3600 West 5400 South.

The victim was stabbed multiple times on multiple areas of his body, police said. He was transported by ambulance to Intermountain Medical Center in extremely critical condition.

Police are still looking for the men involved in the attack. They believe the suspects are Hispanic males in their 20s.
