CHESAPEAKE, Va. (AP) -- A Virginia man accused of killing a Mormon missionary from Utah will be arraigned next month on several charges, including first-degree murder.
Today, 19-year-old James Rickey Boughton Junior appeared in a Chesapeake courtroom.
Boughton's mother told the judge she is trying to find an attorney for her son. The judge then rescheduled the arraignment for February 3rd.
Boughton asked the judge to set bond. But the judge said he won't consider it until he gets an attorney.
Boughton is accused of fatally shooting 21-year-old Morgan Young of Bountiful on January fourth. He also shot and wounded 19-year-old Joshua Heidbrink of Greeley, Colorado.
Police believe the missionaries witnessed a crime before they were shot.
