Gene Kennedy Reporting Stabbed over a car stereo! And that's just one of two brutal attacks in the last 12 hours.
A Clearfield man was stabbed five times in the back during a brutal attack at his apartment complex. The victim confronted the suspects after catching them red-handed trying to steal a stereo out of his car.
"The victim in this case is a large male. Because of his size they felt they needed to stab him in order to get away from him," police say.
The three suspects also punched the victim's girlfriend before taking off, hoping for a clean getaway from the Heather Estates apartments.
But one of them left a valuable clue behind.
"The individuals, during the altercation one of them lost his ball cap. We found his name on the inside of the hat. We can track down that person in Ogden."
That person is Alfredo Felan. Police say he confessed to the stabbing. The other two suspects, also from Ogden, admitted involvement as well. All three were arrested and taken to Davis County Jail.
Police say this story reminds all of us to beware of our emotions when witnessing crime. While we want to confront the suspects, it can lead to dangerous consequences.
In this case the victim survived, but he'll likely be in the hosptial for some time, given the severity of those stab wounds.
