(KSL News) A junior high school student in Magna was hit by a car on his way to school.
The 13-year-old was near Brockbank Junior High, at 2935 S. 8560 West, when it happened.
Witnesses say the teen ran into the street from between two cars. The driver says there was nothing he could do to avoid hitting the boy.
Officers say the driver was not speeding.
Randy Thomas/ Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office: "Actually from where the car stopped there are no skids. We are investigating that. There was a car directly in front of it, and he said the speed was within tolerance of this area."
The boy was flown to the hospital where he is reported in serious condition.
