SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Former Mayor Nancy Workman announces she will NOT be running for office anytime soon.

Workman says she will NOT run for county clerk or anything else in the 2006 election. Yesterday, she announced she's "absolutely, definitely, NOT running." However, Workman refused to close the door on a future campaign, saying that's the politician in her.

In December, Workman says she was entertaining the idea of a possible run against Democratic County Clerk Sherrie Swensen. Instead, she has renewed her engineering license and says she wants to devote her energy toward nailing building contracts.
