(KSL News) A car full of teenagers crashed tonight in Sandy, critically injuring at least four of them.
Amy Candrian/Witness: "I just said a prayer in my heart, I felt so bad. I could hear people in the back of the car screaming."
It happened on 86th South at about 10th East. That's a 35 mile per hour zone, but witnesses say it seemed like the car was going 90 miles an hour or so.
Sgt. Mitch Howard, Sandy Police Dept.: "The juveniles were at a high rate of speed behind another westbound car. They tried to.. an attempt to pass that vehicle, at which time they lost control. The vehicle then went out of control and hit a parked vehicle."
Here's the red car that was parked along the north side of 86th South.
Police tell us six teenagers were in the car. There's no way all of them were wearing a seatbelt because the car only has five seatbelts.
Two of the victims were flown to hospitals. Two others were taken by ambulance. The other two were treated at the scene and released.
No names have been released, and investigators say the road could be closed another hour or so while they try to determine just what happened.
