This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

What does it mean to truly go green? In 2006, former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman set a goal for all state-owned facilities to improve their energy efficiency 20 percent by 2015 and for 20 percent of Utah's electricity generation to come from renewable sources by 2025.

Five years later we're making great strides toward that goal with all new state construction required to be Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified. Salt Lake Community College is also helping to prepare a green workforce by becoming a Board of Energy Certified Energy Practioners testing facility and offering an energy management associate program.

Intermountain Wind and Solar is a Utah-based company with the goal of becoming the go-to business for renewable energy systems. With contracts from Southern Utah to Idaho's panhandle, this Woods Cross company is reaching clients throughout the Intermountain West. You may have seen some of their work on the bird refuge in Bear River for the Fish and Wildlife office. Most recently they teamed up with the No. 1 manufacturer of small wind turbines in the world to provide affordable distributed wind systems in Utah and Wyoming.

They are also the exclusive installer for the well-known Utah Solar for Schools program, which is putting solar systems on 73 schools throughout the state. They're one of a handful of contractors who obtained select grants for schools in Idaho, where they are installing over 100 kilowatts of solar power.

To give you an idea of the experience the managing partners of this company bring to the table, they come from a family business with a long history of success in the field of renewable energy. Richard Shipley, a managing partner, previously won the Utah Business of the Year Award.

With cash grants and large tax incentives available, now is the perfect time to invest in renewable energy. As electricity prices continue to climb, Intermountain Wind and Solar is rising to become the No. 1 choice for residential and commercial solar and wind products.

For Zions Bank, I'm Chris Redgrave, speaking on business.
