Alex Cabrero Reporting"It is a fantastic new year!"

This woman has every reason to be happy; her two grandchildren were found after a day-long Amber Alert. That Amber Alert was issued last night after the children's own mother took them.

The Box Elder County Sheriff's Office issued the Amber Alert, prompting radio and TV stations, electronic billboards, cell phone text messages to be on the lookout for her car.

This Amber Alert is basically the textbook definition of how it's supposed to work. A resident in Ivins, near St. George, saw the alert and later saw a car matching the description. That person called police and now the two kids are safe.

Judy Cline: “How do I feel? Fantastic! I’m so excited. ‘

New Year's always had a way to make Judy Cline smile, but this year it's a whole lot different.

Judy Cline: “Greatest thing ever!”

She's not exaggerating. Her two grandchildren, seven-year old Steven Morton, and 12-year old Tyler Morton, were found safe this morning. Both were the subject of a state-wide Amber Alert issued Friday evening.

Their own mother, Tessa Morton, took them from their grandparents’ house, her mothers house, in Plymouth. She lost custody of them a few years ago and it appears she wanted them back. Cline didn't sleep at all wondering where they were and if they were safe.

Steven and Tyler, whose normal home is at the top of the state in Plymouth, were found with their mother in the bottom of the state, in Ivins, just outside of St. George this morning. A resident saw the Amber Alert, saw the car, and called police.

Judy Cline: “We are so thankful for the ones who took the time to call the police, and just thankful that they’re coming home.”

In the meantime, Morton was taken to jail.

Judy Cline: “I think this way she will get the help she definitely needs.”

Another daughter of Cline's is in Washington County to pick up the children and bring them all the way up the state, to home. Certainly a happy New Year's Eve for that family.
