(KSL News) Classes and meetings at the University of Utah were held in the dark this afternoon. According to the University, some of the power equipment failed, cutting electricity and air conditioning to roughly 20 campus buildings.
University officials say the power was out for about an hour until maintenance crews fixed the problem.
Buildings such as the hospital and science labs that require power at all time do have backup generators that did kick on when the power shut down.
