SALT LAKE CITY -- Utah's Democratic leaders gathered Saturday night for the party's biggest fundraiser of the year.
The black-tie event, held at the downtown Marriott, pulled together the biggest names of the Utah Democratic Party -- from Salt Lake County Mayor Peter Corroon to party chair, Wayne Holland.
Holland says the annual Democrat Gala gives lawmakers a chance to recharge before heading to the hill.
"It's a good way for us to get together before the legislative session starts," he said. "Talk about things that are important to us and what we think governing should look like down the road."
The gala also gives the Democratic coffers a big boost. Each table cost between $3,000 and $10,000. Holland says the money will help lawmakers during reelection.
