(KSL News) A fight over a stolen pet started a wild chase tonight through Ogden City streets. Police tried to confront a man they believed stole a dog, but he took off in his motor home, and led officers on a dangerous chase through Ogden.

An officer tried to reach inside the motor home to stop the vehicle, but the suspect, Shane Payton, kept driving, dragging the officer several yards. The officer received minor injuries.

Payton then led police on a chase through several neighborhoods, egging them on all the way, until an officer finally boxed him in, causing the motor home to spin out of control and tip over.

Ogden Police Lt. David Tarren, said, "It was absolutely crazy, it was insane. In my 30 plus years as a police officer, this has got to be one of the worst chases that I know of, especially here in Ogden, one of the most dangerous ones we've ever had."

After the motor home tipped over, Payton tried to run away, but officers caught him in a nearby house.
