SOUTH SALT LAKE -- A police standoff in South Salt Lake ended Wednesday afternoon when the man who was holed up in his house committed suicide.
Police first went to the home to check on a woman who lived there. That's when a man inside got his gun.
That prompted the callout of a SWAT team that surrounded the home.
The man eventually walked out of the home, pointed the gun at his head and pulled the trigger.
No one else was hurt, including the woman whom police were sent there to check.
