(KSL News) The bear that was killed today was not the first bear encounter in Utah this year.

On June 1, the Department of Wildlife Resources had to set a trap for a bear in Summit County after he started routinely visiting a Jeremy Ranch apartment complex. It was also seen wandering near the outlet mall at Kimball Junction.

Bears Spotted Earlier This Year in Summit County and Spanish Fork

On May 25, another black bear was seen in Spanish Fork. The animal wandered into somebody's backyard, and the family watched as it made its way up to the house.
