Woman hit by car in Midvale

MIDVALE -- A woman was hit by a car while trying to cross a dark street in Midvale.

Police say the woman was trying to cross 7200 South near 50 West, an area with no crosswalk, around 11:30 p.m. The driver apparently didn't see her and hit her.

Sgt. Torin Chambers of the Midvale Police Department said, "She rolled up onto the car and that's what crushed in the windshield."

She was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police say it appears the driver was obeying the speed limit and the incident was simply an accident.
