SALT LAKE CITY (AP/KSL News) -- The State Capitol is glowing tonight.
A big group lit the Christmas tree, a 25-foot blue spruce.

The program included Christmas carols by Wasatch Elementary School's sixth-grade choir.
This is the first time the grounds have had an official Christmas tree since the Capitol was closed last year for a major renovation project.
Traditionally, a giant, fresh-cut tree is put up inside the Capitol rotunda. However, renovations have left no room for a tree indoors. This year's tree, located on the southeast side of the Capitol complex, will likely be used annually until the Capitol reopens. Which could be as soon as the end of 2007.
