LOGAN, Utah (AP) -- Tyler Newbold dropped in 18 points and two more Aggies added double-doubles to push Utah State past Cal State Bakersfield 77-58 Saturday night.
Nate Bendall scored 13 and pulled down a career-high 14 rebounds for the Aggies (7-2), while Tai Wesley added 16 points and 12 rebounds. Rashad Savage led the Roadrunners (5-5) with 14 points and seven rebounds.
Stephon Carter, CSUB's leading scorer at 19.1 points per game entering Saturday, was held to four points on 2-of-11 shooting. Utah State grabbed a season-high 55 rebounds in the contest, while Bakersfield gathered 27.
Utah State led by as many as 26 points with 12:30 to play. The Aggies outrebounded the Roadrunners 32-12 in the first half on their way to a 37-16 lead at the break.
