PARK CITY, Utah (AP) -- The Canyons Resort is opening for the ski season this weekend.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports that the resort will open with nine lifts on Friday morning, including a new one with heated seats.

Delays getting the lift into place forced resort officials to push back the opening date.

When fully opened, The Canyons is Utah's largest ski resort and offers 4,000 acres of skiing and snowboarding terrain and 182 trails.

Utah has 14 ski resorts.

Eagle Point will be the last resort to open on Dec. 15. All other resorts have opened for the season.
