(KSL News) The Frontrunner commuter rail has received $80 million in federal funds to help with construction.
The money is part of a $489 million reimbursement package that was announced last July.
The federal government typically reimburses transit agencies for about half of their construction costs. Frontrunner is getting about 80 percent federal funding. In the coming years, UTA will get five more reimbursement checks.
